Accommodation

Masham is famous for it’s two popular Yorkshire breweries, and its position between Harrogate and the Yorkshire Dales make it an excellent place to visit and provides the perfect base for a longer visit to North Yorkshire.

Located in the breathtakingly beautiful region of Lower Wensleydale, Masham (pronounced ‘Massam’) is famous for its family-run breweries, steam engines and annual sheep fair. A thriving community of artists, authors and craftsmen highlights the town’s creative side and established links to JW Turner and Lewis Carroll.

One of the town’s main attractions is its famous brewery, which has been producing award-winning ales for over 150 years. Visitors can take a tour of the brewery, sample some of its delicious beers, and learn about the fascinating history of brewing in Masham. In addition to its brewery, Masham is also home to a number of historic buildings, including the beautiful St. Mary’s Church and the imposing Masham Town Hall, both of which are well worth a visit.

Whether you’re looking to explore the town’s rich heritage, enjoy a pint of locally brewed beer, or simply soak up the stunning scenery, Masham is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Yorkshire.

Flax Mill Cottage

Tucked away in the Nidd valley, two miles outside of the small town of Pateley Bridge, lies the magnificent Grade II listed Glasshouses Mill,
a former flax and rope mill, built in the 1800s and now transformed
into luxury accommodation, on the banks of the river Nidd and alongside
the rather impressive mill dam.

Flax Mill Cottage, a beautiful 2 bedroom self-catering cottage, forms a part of this development. Original beams and artefacts retained within the development offer glimpses into the mill's past and contrast beautifully with the modern fixtures and fittings.
